I’m a Dynamics AX functional consultant working in New Zealand. I work mostly in the Trade and Logistics area – and I’ve been implementing Dynamics AX in small manufacturing companies and importer-distributors.

This blog has grown out of my day-to-day experience of implementing Dynamics AX (and occasional pre-sales presentations).

In April 2016 I became a Microsoft MVP for the first time, and November 2016 (thanks to the support of my employer, Intergen) I attended the Microsoft MVP Global Summit in Seattle. It was – as they say here in New Zealand – ‘O’ for awesome!

I’ve just heard that my Microsoft MVP award has be renewed for 2017. I’m grateful and humbled.

I’ve gradually retired from updating this blog becuase my current project involves implementing an ISV solution – so most of my work at the moment isn’t really applicable to the wider community.

Also, I’ve decided to retire in April 2018 – so as time moves on my involvement in the Dynamics community is becoming less and less.

  1. Very nice blog. I’m curious if you have used the Warehouse reservation setting, “Reserve only warehouse in production bill of material” What would you use this for? It’s confusing that if the reservation is only on the warehouse dimension, how would work be generated? Thanks.

    • Hi Jeff, thanks for the comment. Sorry, I haven’t had the chance to work on WHS since the middle of last year when I wrote those blog posts, and I haven’t seen that parameter, so I suggest you post a comment in the Dynamics AX community forum.

    • Hi Jonas – sorry to hear that. I haven’t tried this scenario in D365 yet, and I’m a bit tied up for the next few days, but my understanding was that D365 functionality is based on Dynamics AX 2012 R3, so this scenario should work. I suggest you refer the issue to your support partner, or post a query on the Dynamics AX Community Forum
